As a Creative Director in the advertising industry, Ricky Perkins has been writing, art directing and creating advertising since 1979. His advertising work has been recognized in the ONE Show, Print Magazine, The Creativity Annual and ShowSouth. Born in Jackson, MS, he now lives in Advance, NC, where he has founded Wren's Nest Publishing, Inc.

Carol Thompson is a former librarian and educator. For nearly 20 years, she has been a writer and editor whose work has appeared in various nationally known publications. She lives on her family farm in Ohio, where she is currently at work on several writing projects geared toward children.

| Lynn Byrd is a freelance writer who loves people, animals and the natural world. Like her subjects in America The Good, she finds power in finding the silver lining under the dark cloud. Her enthusiasm for life and belief in the goodness of mankind is evident in each of the stories she contributed to this project.
